Az Ayreon a holland multiinstrumentalista Arjen Lucassen projektje, amely a progressive metalt szimfonikus elemekkel és rockoperákkal ötvözi. A szövegek sci-fi és fantasy környezetben mozognak, békés és ökológiai üzenettel.
A 01011001: Live Beneath the Waves album 2024-ben jelent meg a Music Theories Recordings kiadónál, mint a 2008-as 01011001 koncepciós album élő felvétele. A háromlemezes CD 40 dalt tartalmaz, melyeket a 2023 szeptemberében a tilburgi 013 klubban tartott koncerteken rögzítettek. A felvett dalok között szerepel az Age of Shadows, a Beneath the Waves, a The Fifth Extinction és a The Day That the World Breaks Down.
A felvétel idején a felállást Arjen Anthony Lucassen, Ed Warby dobos, Joost van den Broek billentyűs, Jeroen Goossens fafúvós hangszereken és Ben Mathot hegedűs alkották.
