A Little Feat amerikai rockegyüttes 1969-ben alakult Los Angelesben. A zenekar repertoárja az évek során változatos műfajokat ölelt fel – rock'n'rollt, bluest, rhythm and bluest, boogie-t, countryt, folkot, gospelt, soult, funkot és jazz elemeket is tartalmaz.
A Waiting for Columbus 1978-ban jelent meg dupla bakeliten a Warner Records kiadónál. Ez az együttes első élő albuma, amely hét 1977. augusztusi fellépés anyagából készült – az első négy koncertet a londoni Rainbow Theatre-ben tartották (augusztus 1–4.), a további hármat pedig a washingtoni George Washington Egyetem Lisner Auditoriumában (augusztus 8–10.). Az album 17 dalt tartalmaz, köztük olyan klasszikusokat, mint a Dixie Chicken, Willin', Fat Man in the Bathtub vagy Sailin' Shoes.
A felvétel idején a zenekart Lowell George (gitár), Paul Barrère (ének, gitár), Bill Payne (billentyűk), Kenny Gradney (basszusgitár), Richie Hayward (dob), Sam Clayton (ütőhangszerek), Fred Tackett (gitár) és Phil Brown (gitár) alkották.
