A Marillion brit rockegyüttes, amelyet 1979-ben alapítottak az angliai Aylesburyben. A post-punk zenei színtérből kinőve kapcsolatot teremtett a punk rock és a klasszikus progresszív rock között. A nyolcvanas évek egyik legsikeresebb neo-prog alakulata.
Az Afraid of Sunlight az együttes nyolcadik stúdióalbuma, amelyet 1995-ben adott ki az EMI kiadó, egyben ez volt az utolsó lemezük ennél a labelnél. A Sanctuary Records vinil reedíciója 17 dalt tartalmaz két lemezen, és az eredeti albumfelvételek mellett bónusz anyaggal is szolgál: demóverziókkal, stúdió-outtake-ekkel és a címadó dal akusztikus változatával. A kiemelkedő dalok közé tartozik a hétperces Gazpacho, a melankolikus Afraid of Sunrise és az epikus Out of This World.
Az albumon Steve Hogarth (ének), Steve Rothery (gitár), Mark Kelly (billentyűk), Pete Trewavas (basszusgitár) és Ian Mosley (dobok) játszott.
