Tom Petty amerikai énekes, gitáros és zeneszerző volt, háromszoros Grammy-díjas, a rock dalszerző-előadói irányzatának egyik legkiemelkedőbb képviselője. Társalapítója volt a Traveling Wilburys szupercsoportnak, amelyben Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison és George Harrison is játszott, valamint hosszú évekig a The Heartbreakers frontembere.
A kulcsfontosságú Wildflowers album bővített újrakiadása, amely eredetileg Petty második szólóstúdióalbumaként jelent meg 1994-ben, 7 bakelit lemezen jelenik meg. A felvétel producerei Rick Rubin és Mike Campbell voltak. Ez a változat az eredetihez képest 10 dalt tartalmaz, amelyek a Wildflowers felvételei során születtek, de az eredeti lemezre nem fértek fel (az All The Rest rész), továbbá 8 dal otthoni demófelvételeit és 13 koncertfelvételt. A meghatározó dalok között szerepel a You Don't Know How It Feels, az It's Good to Be King vagy a Crawling Back to You. Az énekes 2017 októberi halála előtt kezdett el dolgozni ezen az átfogó kiadáson, de a megvalósítást már nem érhette meg.
