A Powerwolf egy Saarbrückenből származó német power metal együttes, amely sötét koncepciójáról ismert, mely a farkasember-motívumokat és a keresztény szimbolikát ötvözi. A zenekarra jellemző a masszív orgonahangzás, a kórusok és Attila Dorn énekes operai hangja.
A Blood of the Saints című album 2011-ben jelent meg a Metal Blade Records kiadónál, az együttes negyedik stúdióalbumaként. Ez volt az első olyan lemezük, amelyhez videóklipek is készültek – rögtön kettő is, a We Drink Your Blood és a Sanctified with Dynamite dalokhoz. A svédországi Studio Fredman stúdióban zajló felvételek mellett az együttes az album bizonyos részeit a saarbrückeni, 12. századi Deutschherrenkapelle kápolnában rögzítette. A 2 CD-s kiadás összesen 16 dalt tartalmaz, köztük a latin Agnus Dei intrót és a monumentális Ira Sancti (When the Saints Are Going Wild) című záródalt.
A megjelenéskor a Powerwolf felállása: Attila Dorn (ének), Matthew Greywolf (gitár), Charles Greywolf (basszusgitár), Falk Maria Schlegel (billentyűs hangszerek), Tom Diener és Roel van Helden (mindketten dob).
