James Brown (1933–2006) amerikai énekes és zeneszerző, a funk úttörője és a 20. század populáris zenéjének egyik legjelentősebb alakja volt. Becenevei közé tartozik a „Godfather of Soul”, a „Mr. Dynamite” és a „Soul Brother No. 1”.
