A Grateful Dead amerikai rockegyüttes volt, amelyet 1965-ben alapítottak Palo Altóban, Kaliforniában. Eklektikus stílusáról volt ismert, amely a rock, blues, folk, country, bluegrass, jazz, gospel és reggae elemeit ötvözte a pszichedéliával. Hosszú improvizációiról és „Deadheads” néven ismert odaadó rajongótáboráról híresült el. 2007-ben az együttes Grammy életműdíjat kapott.
A The Best of the Grateful Dead Live című válogatás 2018 márciusában jelent meg a Rhino kiadónál, és 19 élő felvételt tartalmaz, amelyek korábban megjelentek a zenekar koncertalbumain.
