A Pretenders brit-amerikai rockegyüttes, amelyet 1978-ban alapított Herefordban a kezdeményező és a legtöbb dal szerzője, Chrissie Hynde. A nyolcvanas években két tag kábítószerrel összefüggő halála után az együttes számos személyi változáson ment keresztül, miközben Hynde maradt az egyetlen állandó tag.
A Pretenders II album 1981 augusztusában jelent meg a Sire Records kiadónál, mint az együttes második stúdióalbuma, és elérte a 7. helyet a brit slágerlistán, valamint a 10. pozíciót az amerikai Billboard 200-on. Ezt a háromlemezesre bővített kiadást maga Chrissie Hynde állította össze, és tartalmazza az 1981-es eredeti felvételt a Message of Love, Talk of the Town és Day After Day dalokkal, továbbá demófelvételeket és élő felvételeket az 1980 augusztusi New York-i Central Park-beli koncertről. Ez az utolsó album az eredeti felállásban, mielőtt a következő évben a gitáros James Honeyman-Scott halála sújtotta az együttest.
