A Running Wild hamburgi német heavy metal együttes, amely elsősorban kalóztémájú dalszövegeiről ismert, amit az 1987-es Under Jolly Roger albumtól kezdve bontott ki. Más német bandákkal együtt a nyolcvanas évek power és speed metal színterének úttörői közé tartozott.
A Riding the Storm: The Very Best of the Noise Years 1983–1995 című válogatás 2016-ban jelent meg 2 CD-n, digipack kiszerelésben a Noise kiadónál. 32 felvételt tartalmaz a zenekar aranykorából, a korai daloktól, mint a Victim of States Power és a Genghis Khan, a klasszikus Under Jolly Roger és Port Royal-on át egészen a későbbi darabokig, mint a Riding the Storm, a Blazon Stone vagy a Genocide. Az album átfogó áttekintést nyújt a Running Wild Noise kiadónál megjelent munkásságáról.
A kiadás idején a felállást Rolf Kasparek, Peter J. Jordan, Peter Pichl és Rüdiger Dreffein alkották.
