A Simple Minds skót rockegyüttes 1978-ban alakult Glasgow-ban, és a nyolcvanas-kilencvenes évek egyik legsikeresebb zenekara. Hangzásuk a new wave és az alternatív rock határán mozog.
A Live in the City of Angels dupla koncertalbum 2019-ben jelent meg a BMG kiadónál, hetedik élő albumként a Simple Minds diszkográfiájában. A felvétel az együttes eddigi legnagyobb észak-amerikai turnéjának koncertjeit örökíti meg, és 25 dalt tartalmaz 2 CD-n. Az élő változatok között ott vannak a klasszikus slágerek, mint a Don't You (Forget About Me), az Alive and Kicking, a Waterfront vagy a New Gold Dream (81, 82, 83, 84).
Az album rögzítésének idején a Simple Minds hattagú felállásban működött: Charlie Burchill (gitár, billentyűk), Jim Kerr (ének), Ged Grimes (basszusgitár), Sarah Brown (ének), Gordon Goudie (háttérvokál) és Cherisse Osei (dob).
