Az Avantasia a német énekes és dalszerző Tobias Sammet metal-opera projektje, aki az Edguy együttesből ismert. A projekt 1999-ben jött létre konceptuális power metal albumok formájában, számos vendégénekessel és -instrumentalistával; később teljes értékű formációvá alakult, amely power metalt, szimfonikus metalt és pop-rock elemeket ötvöz.
Az A Paranormal Evening With the Moonflower Society 2022 októberében jelent meg a Nuclear Blast kiadónál a projekt kilencedik stúdióalbumaként. A dupla bakelitlemez 11 dalt kínál szimfonikus power metal stílusban, metal-opera elemekkel, köztük az ötdalos nyitóblokk Welcome to the Shadows, The Wicked Rule the Night és Kill the Pain Away című dalaival, valamint a záró tízperces Arabesque című számmal.
