A Blackmore's Night egy amerikai-brit folk-rock együttes, amelyet a reneszánsz zene inspirál, és Ritchie Blackmore gitáros (a Deep Purple és a Rainbow korábbi tagja) és Candice Night énekesnő vezet. A páros a középkori esztétika iránti szenvedélyt modern rockos megközelítéssel ötvözi, és egyedi, romantikával és nosztalgiával teli zenei világot hoz létre.
A Shadow of the Moon 1997 júniusában jelent meg az együttes debütáló albumaként az earMUSIC Classics kiadónál, és jelentős sikert aratott – Németországban 17 hétig szerepelt a listákon, Japánban pedig arany minősítést kapott 100 000 eladott példányért. Ez a kétlemezes CD-kiadás összesen 21 felvételt tartalmaz: az eredeti albumot bónusz otthoni felvételek egészítik ki (Shadow of the Moon és Spirit of the Sea Ritchie és Candice évfordulós felvételeiből), a második lemezen pedig az album keletkezéséről szóló dokumentumfilm és három dal videóklipje látható.
