A Deicide amerikai death metal együttes, amelyet 1987-ben alapítottak Tampában. A csapat első két albuma, a Deicide és a Legion a SoundScan adatai szerint a legkelendőbb death metal albumok között szerepel.
A Serpents of the Light újrakiadásként jelenik meg színes bakeliten, mentolzöld változatban. Az album tíz dalt tartalmaz, köztük a címadó Serpents of the Light-ot, a Bastard of Christ-ot és a Slave to the Cross-t. Ez a brutális death metal jellegzetes támadása, a zenekar kezdeteitől fogva jellemző tematikával.
