A Dream Theater egy amerikai progresszív metal együttes, mely 1985-ben alakult Bostonban. A zenekar magját John Petrucci gitáros, John Myung basszusgitáros és Jordan Rudess billentyűs alkotja, kiegészülve James LaBrie énekessel és egy dobossal.
A Lost Not Forgotten Archives: Images And Words Demos (1989-1991) három CD-s archív kiadvány egyedülálló betekintést nyújt a legendás Images And Words album születésébe. A válogatás összegyűjti a kulcsfontosságú dalok instrumentális verzióit (Metropolis, Take The Time, Learning To Live), az 1990-es énekes meghallgatások demófelvételeit, köztük a ritka A Change Of Seasons felvételt is, az 1991-es ATCO demókat, valamint az album összes főbb dalának előgyártási felvételeit. Tartalmazza az Oliver's Twist című számot is, amely nem került fel a végleges verzióra. Összesen tizennyolc felvétel dokumentálja a zenekar alkotói folyamatát formálódásának kulcsidőszakában.
