A Dream Theater amerikai progresszív metál együttes, amelyet 1985-ben alapítottak Bostonban. A műfaj egyik legjelentősebb képviselőjének számít, ismert virtuóz játékstílusáról, összetett kompozícióiról és a heavy metal hangzás progresszív rockkal való ötvözéséről.
A New York City 3/4/93 című koncertalbum LP-n egy 1993 márciusi New York-i fellépést rögzít, és az Inside Out Music kiadó 2007-ben jelent meg. A felvétel 15 dalt tartalmaz, köztük a Metropolis – Pt. I: The Miracle and the Sleeper, a Pull Me Under, a Take the Time és a csaknem húszperces A Change of Seasons című dalokat. Az album az együttes hangzását dokumentálja az Images and Words sikere utáni klasszikus időszakból.
A koncert idején a Dream Theater felállását James LaBrie (ének), John Petrucci (gitár), John Myung (basszusgitár), Mike Portnoy (dob), Jordan Rudess (billentyűs hangszerek) és Steve Stone alkotta.
