A Legion of the Damned egy Heldenből származó holland thrash/death metal együttes, amely 2005 óta működik ezen a néven (korábban Occult néven). Szövegeikben horror motívumokra, sötét okkult témákra, vallási kérdésekre és apokaliptikus elképzelésekre összpontosítanak.
A The Poison Chalice című album 2023-ban jelent meg a Napalm Records kiadónál digipack csomagolású dupla CD-ként, és 25 dalt tartalmaz. Az első lemez új stúdióanyagot mutat be, olyan dalokkal, mint a Contamination, a Skulls Adorn the Traitor's Gate vagy a Beheading of the Godhead. A második korong azokat a felvételeket tartalmazza, amelyek az European Metal Festival Alliance 2020 online közvetítésére készültek, egyedülálló élő fesztiválélményt nyújtva a hallgatóságnak.
Az album megjelenésének idején a zenekar hattagú felállásban lépett fel: Maurice Swinkels (ének), Richard Ebisch és Twan van Geel (gitár), Fabian Verweij (gitár), Harold Gielen (basszusgitár) és Erik Fleuren (dob).
