A Liquid Tension Experiment egy 1997-ben alapított amerikai instrumentális progressive metal szuperegyüttes. Három tagja a Dream Theater zenekar tagja, a negyedik tag pedig a King Crimson és Peter Gabriel projektjeiből ismert basszusgitáros.
A Liquid Tension Experiment 3 album 2021 áprilisában jelent meg az Inside Out Music kiadónál, az 1999-es Liquid Tension Experiment 2 óta ez az együttes első stúdiófelvétele. A kétlemezes Blu-ray kiadás tizenhárom dalt tartalmaz, amelyek közül kiemelkedik a majdnem tizennégy perces instrumentális Key to the Imagination és a progresszív Hypersonic. Több mint két évtized után az együttes teljes felállásban tért vissza a stúdióba, megerősítve pozícióját a technikailag igényes instrumentális rock világában.
Az albumon John Petrucci gitáron, Mike Portnoy dobokon, Jordan Rudess billentyűkön és Tony Levin basszusgitáron működött közre.
