A Mental Cruelty egy Karlsruhe-i német blackened deathcore zenekar, amely 2016-ban alakult. Zenéjük ötvözi a death metal, a slam és a black metal elemeit brutális vokállal és epikus zenekari betétekkel.
A Purgatorium album limitált 2022-es újrakiadásban jelent meg CD-n. Nyolc dalt tartalmaz, melyek közül kiemelkednek a The Rise of the Antichrist, a Vicarius Filii Die vagy az Immortalising Purgatory. Ez a kiadás ráadásul mind a nyolc dal instrumentális változatát is tartalmazza, így a hallgatók vokál nélkül összpontosíthatnak a bonyolult hangszerelésre és az atmoszferikus zenekari megoldásokra.
