A New Order a new wave és a post-punk egyik kulcsfontosságú képviselője. A csapatot 1980-ban alapították a legendás Joy Division megmaradt tagjai Ian Curtis énekes tragikus halála után. Kezdetben a post-punkot az elektronikával ötvözték, később modern technológiákkal és táncos ritmusokkal is kísérleteztek. 1983-as Blue Monday című kislemezük minden idők legkelendőbb tizenkét hüvelykes kislemeze maradt.
Az Education Entertainment Recreation élőalbum 2021-ben jelent meg a Warner Music kiadónál dupla CD-n. Az anyag 21 dalszámot tartalmaz, amelyeket 2018-ban rögzítettek a londoni Alexandra Palace-ban megrendezett egyetlen brit koncertjük során. A repertoáron olyan klasszikusok szerepelnek, mint a Blue Monday, True Faith, Bizarre Love Triangle, de a Joy Division korszakából való dalok (Love Will Tear Us Apart, Atmosphere) mellett újabb szerzemények is, mint például a Singularity.
A kiadás idején a felállást Stephen Morris (dob, ütőhangszerek, szintetizátorok), Bernard Sumner (gitár, ének, szintetizátorok), Phil Cunningham (elektronikus dob, gitár, szintetizátorok) és Tom Chapman (basszusgitár, szintetizátorok) alkották.
